At PsycHealth we are dedicated to your well-being.
Our goal quite simply is to change the way that we think about the relationship between mental and physical health.
Our well-being is not about dealing with our emotions with a stiff upper lip, and it is not toughing it out by ourselves. It is coming to grips with life issues that affect our psychological health that in turn directly affects our physical health.
There is a direct feedback loop between how we view the world and the way our body deals with our experiences. For instance, depression has a direct feedback loop to our heart health and our heart health has a direct impact on our mental health.
Before Covid the CDC estimated that 51 million Americans suffer from ongoing
depression and anxiety at any given time. No doubt that number increased because of our isolation in 2020.
Women are almost twice as likely as men to suffer from depression.
A recent American Psychology Association study found that 70% of patient visits to their primary care physician concerned mental health issues.
Antidepressants can be helpful, but research shows that Cognitive Behavior Therapy (CBT) is as helpful as medication and in combination they are truly synergistic.
Things need to change.
Currently, all of our initial visits are done through
